The process of sculpting is very meditative and intimate to me. I draw my influence from the nuances of everyday life. I find humour in the small unnoticed moment: the moment of fleeting thought, a momentary struggle with balance, or one's exhaustion with one's interaction with technology. I relish in the experience of boundaries; the boundaries between people, cultures, light and dark, and textures. In diverse places we find exciting histories with many stories to be told if we are willing to take the time to admit humility and recognize the boundaries. I use travel as a key form of inspiration. Travelling is a unique way of experiencing other cultures, refreshing one's eyes and creating new work. Life abroad has a magical way of appearing more intense and dramatic. I am fascinated by the expressions, the people, the surfaces and textures that catch light and movement.
